“Pianist” Mikhail Pletnev Returns To The Stage

Since March 2013, Kawai has been supporting Mikhail Pletnev, a Russian maestro, for his concerts held at various places of the world. After the long time hiatus, he came back to the stage. “I would not have restarted piano without Kawai.” said Pletnev.

What he was impressed especially was the broad dynamic range and controllability of Shigeru Kawai. He commented the reason why he selects Shigeru Kawai among various piano brands like this. “An amateur pilot who just enjoy flying does not need the same machine as a professional acrobatic pilot does. Professional acrobatic pilots require quality machines that move just as they want to control, allowing them to perform the surprising tricks. I need such a piano because I am not an amateur pianist.”(Pletnev pilots an airplane and a helicopter.)

As his comment, he made full use of capability of Shigeru Kawai expressing the broad dynamic range from the weakest hearable gentle pianissimo to thundering strong fortissimo, which intoxicated the audience of each country.

Our skilled MPA technicians have been dispatched to each venue to make the piano perfect condition. As a matter of fact, Mr. Pletnev placed his full trust on the MPA’s works, which is definitely one of the reasons that his concerts have been making great success. His next concert is expected to be held in December in Italy.
